IR system compatibility issues

Post by oztruck »

I know that the different IR systems won't talk to each other, eg HL, WSN, and Tamiya. What makes them different? Is it the emitter / receiver or is it more than that?
Any help would be great

Hi oztruck,
Basically its a combination of wave length and signal being different (its like pointing a sony VCR remote at a Samsung TV). I posted everything I know here:

There's a few things about the El-Mod system that I still need to tidy up, but I think it covers most of whats currently out there.

Thanks for the quick reply.  ;D
I think for the money the new HL set up is a good option.  ;) For $70 or so you can make anything do battle from non S&S HL, WSN, you can even use the system to "drive" anti tank guns even  infantry with a RPG, Bunkers anything! :o
What about RC Aircraft. The sky IS the limit ;D.
The system does have its draw backs like no power reduction, the recoil back jump and the dance of death but there probably someone out there that is a lot smarter than me who can tell us how slow or stop the dance and jump thing or even make it compatible with the Tamiya channel or what ever it is called  ::)
