Hi Sean, of the three I would go for the Jagdpanther, avoid the Panther at all cost's simply because there are too many dealers who will try to palm you off with a PANTIGER!!! as to the King Tiger it is just a personal thing but they look (my apologies to lovers of King Tigers)BLAND!!!!!! :O I always think one of the best parts of our hobby is deciding what to get next, nice to be spoiled for choice isn't it? shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hello Sean.... I think you've chosen some nice models to choose from...I would say choose the one that suits the way and area you play in.... keeping in mind that the Jagdpanther... a really great looking tank... has one major drawback... it's a little over 2 feet long with the barrel....so turning in tight areas is difficult ......so just keep that in mind if you play in clubs that set up urban areas ....if you get the Panther... Make sure the vendor states "Panther G" and check photos if they provide them...and make sure it's the canted not flat lower hull

King tigers are monster tanks as well ...they are Huge ....the good thing about the model is you can turn the turret ..so it isn't long and gangly like the Jagd

I might also recommend the T34...it has the 2.4 gig rig in it... It's a very nimble runner....and a great looker as well...The Kv1... as lposter recommended is a nice one too

And yes ... I would go with the higher end models.. metal gears and drives ...even if the gears are the white metal... they are way better than the plastic... not to mention a 45 dollar upgrade in afterthought...the metal running gear... another 100+ upgrade
So by purchasing the deluxe package...you do save a few bucks... less fiddling with the internals... which means more time to play :D

GOOD LUCK

Narrowed it down to between the jagdpanther and the kv1 can anyone tell me rough size of both compared to the tiger 1 and I'll have a look like the kv 1 as the tank hunter or with the longer turret

Good Morning,
Both the KV-1 and Jagdpanther are comparable in overall rough size to the Tiger 1. The KV-1 is not as tall ( unless you get one and turn it into a KV-2 then, Whoa! Mama! ) As Alpha has noted, the Jagdpanther is a tank killer with a casemate mounted 88mm and is very long and slightly narrower on it tracks than the Tiger 1. You will be well served with either as the add-ons and mods for both are plentiful.

That's gr8 hard choice there both nice tanks tempted by the kv1 cause it's not German so would have one of each also the jagdpanther can only be a jagdpanther but the kz 1 has loads of options to pick :) deffo getting the pro version tho seen a pro with 2.4ghz for 160 is that any good?

Sean,
A tank with the 2.4GHz setup is a nice thing to have. It is becoming more common and is a good stepping stone to full boat RC systems and add-on boards and electronics. The Pro versions are usually newer and have more detail as well as metal tracks, upgraded gear boxes and running gear.
