One thing I can recommend on either the Jagd or KT... is to upgrade the gearboxes...white metal or black steel ...no matter so long they are metal you shouldn't have too many drive problems....you also want to make sure you lube them and pre spin them by putting the sprockets on and turning them by hand to make sure they turn freely
both tanks suffer from the same problem... and it isn't HL fault... it's actually a real problem that actually plagued both tanks in reality... the fact that they were heavy... long...and wide,,,the lengthy rectangular design put a lot of stress on the links ...it's the same with the models...as you will find turning in really rough terrain causes a lot of stress on the tracks and gearboxes..binding the drive.... if you have plastic gearboxes epoxying the clutch gear helps the the fix is temporary ...the metal gears don't have clutches ... and the gears don't slip on the spindle...so generally will just power out of whatever comes in front of you

it's probably the best initial upgrade you can do...and in general well worth the time and cost ...tracks and details can always be added later... the gearboxes will make your tank reliable :D

Both take the Low profile ...Long axle gearboxes... and since you have the S&S should be quick to change
This is what you don't need... this is a High profile ..Short axle gearbox

This is what you do need... this is the Low Profile ...Long axle gearbox...

the biggest difference if you notice are the gearbox frames.... the left motor is mounted differently... the other thing is axle length... when you shop make sure you get the appropriate axle length as both come in long and short axle versions....but the cages are done that way for clearance on specific tanks
If you are in the UK... I would go with forgebear... in the US ..EBAY...there are several vendors that ship free to the US ... and arrival times are generally excellent

Good Luck Sean

No Problemo Sean :D ...You got the short axle for your Tiger 1 I hope... If not ...when you get your Jagdpanther... order the low profile short axles and swap the final drive out ...it's the good thing about these tanks ..in most cases ..even though the gearbox frame is different the bearings axles and gears are all interchangeable...with exception to the super high end Brass low ratio boxes ;)

Man..already getting your second tank... welcome to the club of RC addiction :haha:

I would definitely go for the upgraded version. I don't think you will regret it. The panther metal chassis is relatively new to the market, and much better than the plastic one.
