Not much time to work on yee ol' tank... so all I accomplished was this

as you can see...the bore for the HL axle is larger than the 21st century wheel...it was suggested to me ...to bore the hole
Clearly that was not a good idea... as boring the hole would have left a paper thin wall...and a weak axle mount
Luckily when I was in the hardware store purchasing the make shift spindle to spin the wheel... I also searched for a viable answer.. and found this

a pre drilled...white metal sleeve meant for crimping on hanger wire
...it fit perfectly... and the length was primo for making two axles :D

with just a tad bit of clearance... the axle bearings were cut to length...all twelve finished and ready for
installation

Happy Building

Nope, not just you...................they just dont suit skirts mate, and thats just a damn fact.!
Dress the drive sproket hub (stupid Mr Spacely) and she'll be more popular than a 6 ft Blonde backpacker chick in an outback pub.

:haha: :haha: She wasn't quite ready for the finishing touch as of yet Herman...Might put some steel gears in her...As she's a bit on the heavy side ...but worry not... as soon as the toenails get done... she'll be shown in all her glory :D

Cheers mate

Alpha, your wheels came out great!! For awhile there, I had my doubts, (seeing the six 'bumps' left on the Mato rim when you were initially fitting them together), but they sanded out nice and really look good. And the best part is, they fit the tracks well with no side-to-side slop that the Tamiya rubber tires give you. Looks perfect!

Thanks MIke... your idea... with a little twist and turn from me...I also found another method to oversize the 1/18th wheel..but being it was this tank...which I felt was a premium build... it demanded the Mato Rubbers ;)
Thanks again for the recommendation.. I don't regret the investment made to bring this gal up to snuff

Ok ... should be the final post for this build... I spent 5 hours putting in my 2.4 gig rig in... works GREAT! :D ....It actually took a little less than a few minutes to swap out the RX... but a couple of wires came off the 11 pin connecter board...so had some soldering to do...then troubleshooting
Gave her a quick test run... and she runs sweet as cane sugar...What I like best is I don't have the antenna on the transmitter to deal with anymore.. :D
