Hi tiger tiger,
I use two makes of water slide decals on german figures.
Tamiya.
These are very good quality, but you only get 1 of everything per sheet. You also get a whole load of 1/35 decals on the same sheet which I never use (if anyone wants them just drop me a PM, I think I have 4 sets at present

). I use these for shoulder boards, medals, officers cap badges. I get these from here.
Peddinghaus.
These are good quality, and you get far more on a sheet. You do have to cut these decals close the the insignia to avoid getting too much of the backing sheet as well, and I find that some of the decals are really quite poor (I don't like the iron crosses from these sets). They also have a set for SS uniforms but I have not tried those . I buy all my peddinghaus decals direct from them on eBay.

I also use 2 makes of photo etch detail parts. These are good for badges and medals among other things.
ABER.
Their detail sets for Pazer crew I really like. The assault badges are great, and I really like the headset pieces.

Alliance Model Works.
These are great value and have some vey good PE detail parts for figures. Lots on a fret, and very good etch detail. I like the wound badges from this fret, but there really is a lot on here and all of it is good ( even if some pieces are very delicate). Alliance also have a few other sets which I have not used yet but I do intend to try these out. Some of them also come with decals I think. White Ensign sells them too.

As you can see I tend to use and collect bits from all over the place to use with figures. I started off in this scale with figures and really enjoy modelling them. I think a good figure can really enhance the look of a tank when it is being displayed.
