Voyager Early tool clasps

Post by scalawag »

Hi all got the Voyager early clasps fitted to my Early tiger. I think I prefer these over the late ones.

A few pics

looking good mate
to the untrained eye, they look the same
do you think you could show a side by side view?
i guess it's a bit late seeing as you've already got them on :/

I salute you and anyone else who builds the Voyager or Aber clamps, I have got a set of Aber clamps unopened in the bottom of my parts box, you see I bought two sets of large and two sets of small tow rope clamps from Dave FORGEBEAR and the metal is soft enough to take a pin vice or a file so that they can readily be shaped and drilled for any job that requires a clamp with a Butterfly/wing nut or simply used to hold down tools, just pin vice a hole in that part of the Tank where it needs to go and it fits, you can glue it in place or put a thread on the shaft and bolt it down, finish it off with the right paint colour and it preserves your temper and your eyesight. :) shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Looking good fella!! I do like the voyger clamps, they look just as good as the aber ones and infinitely less fiddly!

Hi Micky,

They are very similar, these early ones have a little more detail in the etching, but the main difference is in the closure at the open end. I am afraid that my pics are not really clear enough to see too much difference. :'(

Hi Shaun,

I have heard that the ABER clamps are much more fiddly to put together. These Voyager ones are really not that bad, and I think they look really good. I am sure you would find these very pleasing to make up and install.
