I'm sure the smoke model must come with the rx 18 board since it's pretty much required for the functions.
They don't give enough product info but my guess is the cheaper model probably has the old unreliable Tk01 board so caveat emptor. If it DOES come with the RX18 circuit board that'd be great, i'll have the photos of it out of the box when it gets here but I'm not counting on that. I have experience this board with the one on my King tiger and it wasn't good. If the tank does come that way I'm going to try an engineering exercise before upgrade to RX18(and I have plenty of parts to do that anyways even two transmitters on the way)- I'll add a fan to the board plus a 5 amp fuse and see if that increases reliability (the one on my KT lasted one hour of use before malfunctioning. and I want to see if adding fan and fuse might prevent the same failure.)
I GOT the non smoke model....I checked the company out as far as possible, they're legitimate. These are the 1/16 models theyre not 1/24 scale or something ridiculous like that.

I will post pictures and I'm sure I will be starting a second blog. This one is getting Zimmer it unlike my KT. I'm going to add bright led headlights too, that would be an awesome feature for "night maneuvers".
Anyway when it comes I'll be looking for advice again and another build blog too...I hope not to wear out my welcome here with my reams of posts!
