Herman Hallo, ALPHA did a pictorial on those slippers a little while back, made me laugh, How did it go yesterday at the ceremony? I remember the first time I went to one with my Lady, we came away and she said " I've never seen you cry before" so much for my reputation as a hard ba***rd, lots of memories, most of them good. take care. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Was subdued but with a swelling of pride. It was the first one I have been to in Australia since being here that included the New Zealand National Anthem & speakers in the programme. Very personal . I preffer the very local ones in the smallest of communities, still with fifty or so names on the roll of honour.
There were two veterans at our service from WW2, one a sailor, the other a soldier. Both men were welcomed with a huge standing ovation and many well wished thoughts. The familly of a more recent fatality from the afghan conflict were also present to pay respects to those others that fell in our stead. Very poigniant and raw.

typical of Mr Alpha to spot those slippers !!..............I'm wondering if they also come in Olive with much smaller proboscus' ?? :P
I dont know anyone that does that knid of needlework, but it sure would be a dag to get a pair.

Hi Herman,

I like how the Tiger is coming along. I particularly like how you have done the side fenders. Looking at the pictures of Tigers I have found, if they have the side fenders fitted at all they usually seem to have a full set which look slightly ruffled with use very much like yours. Of course there are a few that show more damage or missing fenders, but on average I would say that yours is spot on.

Cheers lads, I was very mindful of not overdoing the guard damage. The picture is a settling refference and I am going to try an represent it as best I can.
I got a little progress done on the tow cable front mounts, found a bit of plastic material on a floor sweeping machine the wife never uses........it has a close thickness & was very maleable under the knife. I figured as its never used it wont be missed.
I am yet to trim them and fit the brass caps, but they will have the right effect. Im buggered on those bloody wing nuts though !
They are just to small for me to get right.
I have a plan for the track towing cables though, to cut the kit cables from the mounts, and dress them, I have picture hanging wire that will work a treat. I plan to place the mounts, thread the cable through once painted grey and then use some 1mm I.D. aluminium tube as the crimp section behind the eye. Ive done a dry run on the crimp and its spot on.

Give ya the news, Im not sure whats harder.............making them, or taking the damn pictures :problem:
Made the brass strip 'keepers' for the top of the tow eye mounts, and used a paperclip heated & melted through the wing nut end via a slot carefully filed into the end of the keeper.
Im happey enough with the overall effect, but the nuts ................... :/ :/

I might just go for the assumption the wing nuts were well lost................or blame the Soviet 'jack-burglars' for their absence !!!!

Cemented and coated the metal cupola to cover the joint. Was careful to align the hatch angle correctly with the vision slot facing forward and the hatch cover at the '8 oclock position.
Got the last of the tow eye mount bracket tops on and now am deciding on wingnut manufacture !!
Had a parcel from Canada arrive with the new cuploa, and goodies for projects 3 & 4 (no Sherman bits yet though :P ) so my addiction is fueled further :)
