Bits and Pieces, What if Sherman?
Well I found this referance and a couple of drawings regarding 2 experimental shermans with a M26 turret ( 1 with VVSS suspencion and one with HVSS suspencion) and thought, so what the hell! They drew it so lets see what its like in the flesh.
I raided my odds and sods box and came up with enough bits to make a lower hull with old style tamiya motor gearboxes and then using an old repaired upper and some plastic card made the the side skirts and grafted in a new turrent ring to match the M26 turret ring. The turrent I pulled apart and fitted a servo for recoil and a Led in the barrel end for muzzle flash and also a fixed 7.62 barrel along side the main gun (as the referance stated this was an original fit for this turret) Fitted the Turret onto the hull and grafted new fixings for the turret motor and bobs your uncle there she is. I have done the tank in basics olive drab and started on the tools and stores and will just give it a little weathering But I have to admit shes a mean looking devil compared to the standard sherman. I like her I don't know what you think.
Regards Denzil

Good Morning,
Are you sure that you and Fynsdad aren't in the same family? I love the way you fellows' odd and ends boxes always manage to toss out complete and beautiful builds. ;o) *bows* Great job on this extremely rare prototypical tank.
regards,
Painless

Hi pete
How are you doing? Sorry missed the meet. but maybe get to the next one Ive just got to finish the wiring in her, the lower hull is running and the turret rotation, but the elevation and recoil are playing up. She was a simple build and gave me a break from the wiring on my trailblazer.
