If I may offer a comment, Masterclass Section has a History not mentioned, this dates back to shall I say an unstable time for our forum.

After that period the team tried and has been successful in directing this forum to not be an exclusive "CLUB" for any one group.

Our ranking system clearly remains as one of the key indicators of this idea. Everyone has something to contribute. Other forums have been destroyed by an ELITIST MENTALITY of experts and masters and private area's.

I for one fought hard to prevent this attitude and remain committed to never seeing it here. One of the main points about quality has been said in this very thread of opinions, MONEY.

Certainly a tank which has 1000$ spent in parts and upgrades has the advantage in appearance over a tank which the builder may well have created a fine looking example of that vehicle, yet lacks the purchased parts. So which is judged "MASTER CLASS"?

The Moderation team agree's that the culture of any elite group on this forum will not happen. That being said this next part is strictly MY own opinion.

I have experienced negative comments for the sole purpose of aggravation in most cases by men who required praise and I complicated their ability to receive it. And who have proven their absence from this forum had the most positive results.

Our membership grew, as did every other aspect of this group, clubs, post, boards and most of all management became very very simple. We spent more time catching SPAMMER's than resolving disputes. More time creating a better operational system, and more information. Of which I contributed the least.

Due to a breakup of another team and core members of another UK Forum we have seen many of those member return here. My concerns were voiced on the Moderation board and through private PM'S. Wait and watch has been the method chosen to forestall any complications resulting from this activity.

Ok now I am voicing this information for those members who may not be aware of how a forum dies. Through "ELITIST MASTERS" AND THE ATTITUDE that some work deserves higher praise than others, tell that to the father who builds a tank his son thinks the world of which the father has spent much of his excess cash to simply be a dad to his son. That's a masterclass tank to me, and will always in my mind have a quality which cannot be valued in cash, or praise by others.

I direct this toward no individual period, but toward every single member.

The masterclass section is the last remaining part of the original forum, and that attitude which caused so much bitterness. And those who wanted this forum to fail.

So allow me to present another Master class board, before we had a crash and lost the photos this single post, and the first of its kind was the most viewed post ever on this forum.

A person who was hailed a master, takes two novice first time tankers in hand. Step by step every detail is covered to build, paint and detail three Tigers, changes were made in the original plan and three very different tanks resulted. Two went and remain in master class. The other did not yet remains my best work.

Yes I was one of the two novices, and the instructor was brilliant because I was not. He kept helping me understand and correct my mistakes until I got it right.

That is what we need, these excellent creative builders to invest in this forum by demonstrating to others their methods. That is a contribution worth "MASTER CLASS" recognition.

Perhaps some may consider my opinion, reflect on their contributions which benefit others and appreciate they have a forum to post their work at all. For their certainly was a time when they actively tried to harm this forum while building another based on the privileged attitude of masters and rank.

Please everyone consider very seriously the things I have said. My words are only meant to keep this forums Harmony and Positive attitude alive, The only bad tank built here is the one which does not require improvement, the only bad Hobbyist the one who does not need to improve. Share your work, help others find ways to better their skills and save cost so the Hobby remains a means to enjoy and escape the daily stress of life.

Thanks for allowing me to voice my opinion not the teams. My intention is not for "SELF" and should not be taken as such.

If anyone is offended, please PM me and have a go at me. But consider how many people benefit from your skills?

The Enjoyment of learning is a hard pleasure to beat, the pleasure of sharing a hard one to compensate.

After all even anime has shadows in it! :haha:

Pink is not made in a premade set though so add 10% and 15% more white to that color for the top two tones and black at a 10% increase for each of the bottom 3 shades. I would like to honestly see how it would look :)

And here I thought you gentlemen had a keen eye Image...ImageImageImage...that Pershing has more than 20 modulations Image

It's just done with such precise blending...you can't really tell Image
But if you are waiting for some color blending and fades in the way of camouflage well...when a manufacturer comes out with one of these in 1/16 scale

and I am able to acquire one or both... you will be the first to know Image

So Gentlemen... till fate or destiny allow such and event... kick those feet up...pop a cold one.. and Seize the day Image

If it were up to me I would only let in those who have documented the whole build that way others can learn and become better as it is hard to learn from just looking at a finished product. For instance Painless Wolf's excellent 105 Sherman should be in there as he showed step by step the how and the final product looks great.

Because after all, if you are not documenting and only showing the final product you are by definition "showing off" and there is already a forum for that.

By the way Jnewboy... it isn't easy to document everything...if you build anything like how I do... well... taking pictures falls to a very low priority ;)
