On of these days we're going to see this masterpiece tiger you're building!! From the sound of it its going to be epic!jarndice wrote:there should be one for members of the Forum who do not actually offer photographic evidence of their talent, modesty prevents me expanding the pointshaun
If this is directed at me I understand and expect it, I am new here and to 1/16 scale but not to large scale modeling or fine scale for that matter but I dont pretend to know everything and dont want to come off like I think I do. Sorry if I did. Here is the last tank I did and a link to the video for more pics if anyone is interested.jarndice wrote:there should be one for members of the Forum who do not actually offer photographic evidence of their talent, modesty prevents me expanding the pointshaun
And rightly so, however this is hardly ever the case. I have seen models; especially on this forum and other 1/16 armor forums that must have cost a fortune considering they bought all the right parts and still it looked rather poor as one cannot buy talent or practice. I make my parts when I can unless I cant build it or there is a very affordable aftermarket fix. Having the best workshop is not a bad thing, it means you are dedicated and take it seriously, after all you cant just "buy" a workshop, you have to know what to buy, what works for you, it all comes from lots of experience. Having a large pocket book is also a plus in my opinion, especially in this hobby or RC planes. Your hypothetical 10 year old should be congratulated and encouraged to keep building but should told what they did wrong so they can become better and better, not be promoted as the winner because of his age or lack of experience, what would that teach him?jarndice wrote: if a ten year old member of the Forum submitted a build against a builder in their fifties with thirty years experience, patently the quality of the young person’s work could not match the other build, and so what, it is what has gone into it from the soul, if it was only judged on historical accuracy the person with the biggest pocketbook and the best workshop would win
The realm of fantasy has been around for a long time and I enjoy seeing what people create! I love paper panzers but there are so many that are not based on anything except imagination that I think they should be in their own category, it would save the countless posts of "is that real" or "was that built". Obviously ALPHA's paint jobs are not authentic but I do enjoy them for what they are and a fantasy forum would be fun.jarndice wrote:Jnewboy, I really do not think that ALPHA's work need be in a particular forum, for the build is I hope judged on more than historical accuracy, Indeed ALPHA's work is unique and fills a niche that in truth did not exist before he joined
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM... should I be insulted?jarndice wrote:Jnewboy, I really do not think that ALPHA's work need be in a particular forum, for the build is I hope judged on more than historical accuracy, Indeed ALPHA's work is unique and fills a niche that in truth did not exist before he joined, I think of the Masterclass like this, if a ten year old member of the Forum submitted a build against a builder in their fifties with thirty years experience, shaun
