Tanks at Duxford

Post by Tanxalot »

If you out and about near Duxford anytime, don't be put off by thinking the aircraft museum is all about planes, there is a land section with quite a large tank / military exhibition, and is well worth a look. The "tiger" lookalike from Saving Private Ryan is on display along with a great selection of WW1, WW2 and modern era stuff all in an impressive setting. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I can even say I've been in Concorde (I don't have to tell them it was on the ground do I????) LOL!!
Even been up close and personal to a Spitfire RR Merlin engine, wow what a piec of machinery!!.....I have some pics somewhere if anyone is interested.

The only down side is admission, £13 /£16 if I recall, (kids go free) which is a bit steep I admit, but if you like planes tanks WELL worth it!!
Too much month left at the end of the money!!

Yes it's a T34, the Tiger from BoB (Band of Brothers) is a T55
