Presenting my Tiger 1 work in progress. Its based of tank 221 from 502 Schwere Panzerabteilung, Leningrad front circa summer 1943.

Just finishing up with the oil paints prior to finishing up some chipping and then adding the dust effects. The exhaust needs more layers of chipping effects but I think my first layer was too light so might restart them.

Its my first 1/16 where I've used oil paints for almost all effects. I really enjoyed using them, you can get a really wide range of effects from just a few colours.

Can't go wrong with a yellow Tiger! heh with the Spektrum dx6i and receiver signal booster that was delivered accidentally with it, plus the 2 4500 mah batteries in it, I think I could probably drive it to you. Was a little nervous at buying a controller with digital trims for electronics which can have problems with them, but it works really well and will use it also with my KT. Even have the main gun firing on a separate switch. I just need to find out how to switch the auto throttle off now, if the controller turns off before the tank, it tells the throttle to go to 100%! Great for planes, bad for tanks.

I hope the oils are dry by the weekend so I can put a coat of satin on it, then begin the enamel dusting. The tow ropes, cleaning rods and tools also need painting.

I seem to be doing more and more modelling at night when I get home from work which I'm not sure is good for the end results, but I'll take what I can get.

I've dusted the wheels and lower hull now with enamels. Just waiting for the oils to completely dry before I finish off the rear of the tank with smoke effects, dirt and some fuel stains etc. Tracks are also finished but now wondering if I should add some pigments to the tank or keep the cleaner look.

I've also painted the tools - I was originally going to use Aber clamps but after assembling a few and the track rope holders I decided against them. They're just too fragile for a running tank and my fat fingers - even if they can be secured by soldering a wire to the item and then running it through the hull - after I crushed or knocked off some parts I gave up. I kept some of the more resilient parts though which could be secured and crush proof! I also pulled out the smoker I added - the circuit board showed signs of heat damage and I was never truly happy with it so I removed it entirely. Still, I'm glad I bought the Aeromate exhaust stacks, there is very little chance of damaging them when removing the air filter pipes, when I need to take the hull apart.

Added some pigments on the underside to give some depth, added some tools which need a bit of weathering and the tracks are now on. Just need to tone down the sheen on it.
