Sorry to bother everyone with yet another question but I need some more IR advice.
I am equipping my Tiger and my grandson's bulldog with IR so we can have a few battles but am unsure of the optimum position for placement of the IR LED. To my fevered mind the best location is inside the main gun barrel?
Many thanks for any advice.

Re: IR question
Hi cuppa,
If you plan on keeping the airsoft
I just ran my wires out the top of the turret & elastic banded
A little plastic tube to the barrel to house
The I.r lamp.
I would send a picture but I'm at work at the moment
Hope this helps

Re: IR question
Thanks Lister.
I don't keep the airsoft in my tanks. Mostly i fit a servo recoil mechanism.

Re: IR question
cupoftea,
If you don't have flash in your barrel then it is the best place. I do so I usually stick the IR into one of the forward facing periscope. Of course all the HL tanks has the airsoft red LED warning light on the mantlet so you can use that spot as well.

Re: IR question
Also the IR lamp needs to be a 5mm Diameter tube otherwise you get a shot gun effect and hit everything in front of the tank.

Re: IR question
Depends on how old the grand son is you might need the shotgun effect to hit anything.........
