Volume Control for Clark/RX-18/Taigen board

Post by MichaelC »

Hi all,

What should I be looking for at the electronic store if I want to get a replacement volume control for my clark board ? I assumed it is the same for RX-18/taigen boards ? I think volume control is based on the ohms level, right ?

Thanks !

Thanks again Ian. Got some and will try it out today. Can't never find the same ones as HLs in the store for some strange reason, even in the trim pot section.

Hi Michael

Ditch the idea of finding HL type and go for something like this style

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170703080727? ... 1423.l2649

This one by chance had nearly 2 full turns range so gives good control of the volume.

Thanks Ian, that is exactly what I got. Just to make sure the wiring should be PIN 1 from the MFU is the wiper which go into the middle of the pot, and then the other two on either end (doesn't matter which end right ?).

Thanks again !

Hmmm..... Ian, the volume on the 10k one is really low. Is it because I use linear rather than log pot ?

I know I'm resurrecting a zombie thread, but I'm having a similar issue with some pots I bought. Any chance you could tell me how you fixed it?

Taking a stab in the dark since this Mike profile hasn't been here since Jun, but @ColemanCollector also signs as "Mike." Coincidence? Hmmmm....
