Hi Husky,

I believe it is the same as the Turnigy 9X. I have a 9X working with a TK22, but mine is flashed with Tank ER9X firmware, which requires some fairly technical modding. It should work with the original firmware too, but that is not as user friendly so I hear. If you are using it exclusively with tanks you may want to mod the sticks so that both are self centring. RC Tanks Australia carry a part which allows this to be done.
I found this website helpful, however it is again a Tank ER9X flashed Tx which is being used.

The FS TH9x is the Turnigy 9X radio, Tanker9x is not a dificult program at all.
The Turnigy radio is without a doubt the best value of all radios as you can not beat the channels, price and performance.
If you learn about the radio itself there is so much you can do with it. hands down the best radio available for tanks and I would challenge anybody to prove otherwise.

Things to consider:

Although great value, in terms of build quality it is probably the lowest in the 9x family.
To get the left stick self centering (if you want it to) you will require a part from RCTA or butcher another TH9X.
To upgrade the firmware you need to modify the Tx by adding a com port.

But saying that I may yet end up with one of these myself.....

I am assuming because it's programmable if you did the self centering mod then it would not matter if it was mode 1 or 2 .... then this is a real bargain (limited time offer?)......
