LCAC prototype

Post by lliw180 »

Hi All

I probest a build post on the LCAC as this is my first hovercraft and as yet bigest rc build i desided to start with a prototype. this hull is as far i can work out around final size and 1/35 scale. I may end up using this hull depending on a few thing but crose that bridge when i come to it. So i know she may not look much like an LCAC but id rather find out what im dealing with before i start on the good one.

And how i fist cut out the top part of the hull to 750mm X 400mm

then find dead centre mester and cut hole for prop

then cut the under bord i found this improved the lift power of the egine on the cardbord prototypes

then put the skrit on witch is made from a bin liner ( stil desided on what the real one will be )

Next step what for motor to arive make up a mounting piont instal wier up speed contorer to radio powere it up and se what happens

Hi mate over the weekend went to a model boat show and there was a big american assault hovercraft there, model was about 36" long by 15" wide. I got talking to the owner and asked about skirt material, he had made his from the thin modern tent material its like a thin nylon with a waterproof/windproof coating. I thought about you asking for material ideas so I have been keeping my eye open if its any help.
