Northman

Post by Glassback »

Hello to everyone out there.
Back in the late seventies I bought a Military Modelling magazine with a picture of a radio controlled Tiger tank on the cover, at the time it was far too expensive and complicated to pursue, and I was just about to discover girls and drinking! Fast forward to the present, married, grown up kids, mortgage, modern day stresses. After a session of Blackband Porter, I was surfing an online retail site and saw a Heng Long King Tiger, well with the beer and having left over Christmas money, I thought why not, upon further research I came upon this site and I an in awe of some of the projects with the tanks the level of detail and skill which has inspired me. Although these days its as if my eyes have been smeared with Vaseline and someone has swapped all my fingers and thumbs for Walls thick pork sausages!! However, everybody needs a hobby, Iv'e already spent many happy hours out from under the wifes feet, researching on the internet and painting the extra bits for the tank. The Heng Longs may get a bit of stick, but I am chuffed to bits with mine, the only thing being the scale speed being close to an F1 racing car, but thanks to this forum that is something else I'll sort out in due course. Cheers, Andy.

Thanks for the welcome and the warnings!! Unfortunately I have already turned to the dark side, thank you for the invite Tank man. I did have a factory fresh tank but due to being led astray by the forum my tank is currently in multiple pieces while I attempt to 'pimp' it, I did try putting paperclip handles on the jack but the less said about that the better, still lots of fun . Cheers Andy.
