360 turret.

Post by jarndice »

I see that Taigen are about to release a 360 mod for the turrets in their Tank range and it will be able to be retrofitted to Heng Long and Torro, I wonder if Steve at WDM or Dave Forgebear will carry this upgrade? shaun

It's easy to do yourself

This blocks the turret going all the way round.

Simply saw in a few more teeth. and that's it

Problem is the wires getting tangle up if you go round too many times.

Ian you are of course right but I have not seen the Taigen mod and I was hoping it would address that issue, if it does not then back to my scalpel. shaun

On the Taigen demo it just shows the turret going around once and then turn back, not round and round and round. Tank Army has been selling a kit that I think its similar to Tamiya's solution.

I hope their have but even the Tamiya tanks are prone to the wires getting tangled up, so I wait and see.

The Taigen mod will be something that stops the wires getting tangled, rather than just modding the turret ring.

I see the guy on rcuniverse used the same slip ring units as I do but he complained of not being able to find a connector/disconnector for the wires. I found the RCA 15 wire serial connector from any computer shop works well and provides good connection and is easy to fit and disconnect ( no chance of getting it wrong way due to its shape) just solder your wires to each end and bob's your uncle.
