Elmod with Benedini sound unit.

I'm trying to get some sort of Tamiya compatible battle system for my tank, at the moment I have brushless ESC's running directly from my Turnigy 9X receiver. I have a Benedini sound system installed already with the output of that running my HL airsoft gun and smoker. So far the viable options I can see are DBC3HL with an RX18 or an Elmod Pro II Flex.

The Elmod looks a better but expensive way to go but would I still be able to use my Benedini card? I assume I would be able to use it for engine and unconnected sounds but not use it to trigger the IR flash.

Any thoughts on this would be very my appreciated.
