Good Afternoon
Good Afternoon
Good Afternoon,
Just a quick note to introduce myself.
I have been building static models for 20+ years now and have had a RC Tamiya King Tiger for the last 7 years, it was built up but never run. I am currently rebuilding it with a view to using it this time.
I also have a Tamiya Leopard 2A6 which I have not yet built.
I have just found this forum and am enjoying reading all of the helpful posts here.
Best Regards
Keith

Hallo Keith, Welcome to the Forum, Where do you call home, no I am not being nosy! It helps to know where you are so that other members of the forum are better placed to offer advise, anyway I shall assume you are in the UK and if you are not I hope you don't feel insulted, I am pleased you have already trawled the site, I hope you visited the Blacklist, if not I would suggest you make it a priority, very recently a new member of the Forum was ripped of by TANKZONE and he expressed regret that he had not checked in with us first, for he as will you discover that many well known names are to be found there, but all is not gloom we have a recommended dealers site and we shop there and as long as you take note of when the recommendation was made to see if it is current you will get a fair deal and a rapid follow up if there is a problem,I am sure you will have lots of questions and we love answering them although many of your questions have already been asked and answered on different parts of this lunatic asylum, all the more reason to have a good look round, enjoy the forum, we do. shaun

Re: Good Afternoon
Thanks for the welcome,
I am based in West Sussex UK.
I will take a look at the black list as I have parts to buy for both the King Tiger and the Leopard!
My next purchase will be a radio set up I can use for both models (1 transmitter 2 receivers)' so I will be looking for advice on that soon.
I'll post some photo's of the King Tiger soon, I am still in the process of stripping it down and removing the paint.
Best Regards

Re: Good Afternoon
Keith once you have stripped off all the metal work from your King Tiger I don't want to teach a dog how to suck eggs but the best way to strip paint from the plastic body of a Tank is Brake fluid!!!! Oh yes it is, of course do make sure you clean up everything afterwards, we have had this discussion before and it really does work. shaun

Re: Good Afternoon
Thanks for the tip, does the brake fluid affect the plastic? ie make it more brittle?
I normally use oven cleaner to strip paint, but as this has been "on" so long it is being rather stubborn.

Re: Good Afternoon
Keith it will have no effect on the plastic just remember as I said make sure you have removed all the metal and you clean all the fluid off when you have finished, remember what the container on your Motorcycle or under the bonnet of your car is made of. shaun
