Re: "JAGD"- KAMPFWAGON 173
Found an all-steel gearbox unit. Just got to pick it up & grit my teeth and install it.
Any of you guys know a good easy to deal with supplier of skirt armour for one of these ?

Hi Hermann,
because you have built a outstanding model. Only the suspension you should still revise. The tank is behind much too deep.
Cheers

Wow, Lads I really appreciate the comments, yes, the suspension was simply a case of "i didn't know-what I didn't know"
The HL standard roadwheel springs/positon and the gearboxes must go, and that is now a fundamental must -do first stage of each build as you guys would know.
As for a video !, now thats something I never even thought about. I am diligently working on a base/diorama to sit the 'Jagdkatze' on when its not being used to annoy the familly, and I can't start work on the "White Tiger" until I make the space. So at the moment its a case of dodging the Mrs's finger & completing the display base .
Right now on the Gold Cost its just rained for more than 5 minutes so things are greening up a bit, so if I do a video it wont look like this thing was accidentally put on the wrong freight ship & wound up in Libya

Re: "JAGD"- KAMPFWAGON 173
Ive had a bit of gifted time allotted...........yes, shes out with almost all the kids. Got some work done on the display base that I am doing, so I can place the 'Jagdkatze' onto a half descent display base in the media room.
Riddle me this lads........Even after only one single build the question is raised......how the hell does a man store, display, or dare transport these 1/16th expresions of our personallity without suffering the hurt feelings akin to an infant child with a skinned knee ,when a part comes off ?? Let alone get a scale division together !!
Rugby season is closing fast, so this has to get done.
Pictures to follow as Mr Gates is testing my patience with photo sizing.

Re: "JAGD"- KAMPFWAGON 173
Got the issues with photo sizing sorted out with ol Bill Gates. Outlined the base profile & sketched out a plan for the display base.
Gathered stones & ground cover raw elements like a dememnted landscaper, even ran a ton of dried out leaves through the blender that I normally use for summer drinks.
Made in a coarse self-tapping screw for a tree support and set up the corner fence post.used another coarse self tapper to secure the fence post which was a section of live fauna.

Have got onto the fencing material & used oil based stain to highlight the grain for what is worth being a village style fence in a small European rural community.

Re: "JAGD"- KAMPFWAGON 173
Sealed the base with the same stuff I used to seal the paint on the Jagd. Im going to use plaster of Paris to do the base form so had to seal the base to prevent warping. A thicker base would be better, but with these 1/16th things being so big at the get go, marine ply was a better option really.
