Bought and fitted a TK22 to my HL Panzer 3, and it's great. Well..it is in default mode anyway.
For some reason though, the controls on the left stick are reversed. Where it says left stick full left for some controls, it is left stick full right. I know it's not the switching on the transmitter, as the turret traverse is back to front. Odd....but not a majot issue!
Anyways!
Got it allo wired up, but I have a couple of issues I cannot solve.
I bought a programming wire and remote, and tried to swap it to get the airsoft to work.
First off, I reprogrammed the thing to swap the setting from #1 to #2 which should be HL airsoft.
First thing I noticed was this disabled the sound for the gunfire! Why? Should this happen?
Now, I hadn't wired up the gun yet..as that was my second problem!
I have the large 8 pin connector hooked up in stock form. I then have just a 2 pin connection block left to plug in, but where does that go?
There are lots of wires mentioned in the instructions, but I am really not sure exactly what I have got to do here. Do I have to completely re-wire the thing or have I missed something?

Re: Clark T22 ... and HL Airsoft
Pak36,
For the left stick, you might have to swap channel 2/3 on your receiver to get the usual control. (i.e. channel 2 on clark goes to channel 3 on the receiver and channel 3 on the clark goes to channel 2 on the receiver). Sometimes you have to swap channel 1/4 depended on how your radio and how it is set-up.
For the Airsoft problem, you do have to rewire because clark will support independent up/down elevation (rather than cycle thru up to down and backwards etc). You should be able to find out what needs to be done on the clark website. I would do this first before trying to figure out what is wrong with the airsoft.
Where is the 2 pin connection comes from ?

Re: Clark T22 ... and HL Airsoft
The left stick thing I can live with
Just as well, as its not a 2/3 channel issue as far as I can work out. Swappign 2 and 3 makes things even less functional. I have just amended the instructions I have printed off and will 'learn' it that way. Would be annoying if I was used to something different, but as I am not....it's no biggie!
Will dig into the wiring diagrams on Clark's site, as there is a section on making the barrel work up and down. It was my intention to have that servo controlled rather than using the HL motor, as the motor is a noisy thing! I have a couple of micro servos on order.
I didn't think I had to re-wire the thing, but could just swap the setup and have airsoft work...but....this is the RC world
It's why I love it!
The 2 pin connector is running from the connectors on the bottom of the airsoft unit. On my RX18 it was jammed into a 3 pin slot....came that way from the factory! There is a black and red pair running from the underside of the airsoft unit...and it's attached to them. I have absolutely no clue why it's like that.
The wires are from here:

Not my picture...but it shows which wires I am on about!

Re: Clark T22 ... and HL Airsoft
Hi thats the trigger micro switch for the gun sound/track recoil. It should plug into pins 4&5 on the CN3 socket (the xenon flash port). It should just plug in on the end 2 pins as this is a 5 pin socket.

Re: Clark T22 ... and HL Airsoft
Ahh..ok thanks
That makes sense. Might et some proper sized connectors to make life simpler for me.
As I plan on making the barrel elevation run from the servo instead of the motor, I suppose I could just get away with disabling it from the multi-pin connector and seeing if that makes things work.
From what I can gather, the problem is the fact that the original radio setup used the same channel for barrel elevation as for the airsoft. Clark's unit doesn't do this, so the airsoft connection is effectively messed up. I am guessing also, that in 'airsoft' mode, triggering the airsoft motor to spin is also the trigger to play the gunfire sound. So if I make the airsoft motor run, the noise will follow.
I have printed off a fresh copy of the instructions from the Clarkmodel website, as I noticed it has had some stuff added to it.
Will keep at it until I sort this, as the Clark board has allowed me to really sort out the interior layout. It's much less cluttered...and on a small tank that's really a plus.

Re: Clark T22 ... and HL Airsoft
Took me a while .... but I have finally had success. Of a sort ....
I have to say, I wasn;t helped by the Heng Long wiring being totally screwy, the large 8 pin connector being on the wrong way round, and the general flimsy nature of the stock electronics. Please...someone teach them to solder properly, and to make a 'connector' between turret and tank...and I know they have heatshrink in China...
Anyways...that aside....
I rewired it in accordance to Clark's diagram completely ignoring the HL wiring and redoing that where necessary. The end result is a barrel I can move up and down...hooray
And an airsoft gun that fires when I press the fire control. Almost hooray....because it does it after the gunfire sound, and during the reload.
Oh.
I love the new gunfire noise, and I love the fact the board added a reload....but I would like the airsoft motor to run while the loud bang is going on as it will mask the whine of the motor and actually mean the gun fires when the gunfire sound happens.
I was going to rig up a recoil system to use with the airsoft...but I won't bother if this is the way it will be. The gun will fire, the recoil servo activates at the correct time....then the BB fires. Very lame.
Is there ANY way to control the timing of the airsoft motor?
