Another new member
Hi everyone, please allow me to introduce myself; My name is Chas and I am from Northampton and would welcome any communication with fellow tank enthusiasts especially if there is anyone from near to my location. I have been a tank nut, or to be more specific, a Panther nut since "falling in love" with the Free French Panther that used to reside in the centre of Paris at the age of about 9 or 10. Now 50 years later, having bought and built, and lost or destroyed many different model tanks but mostly German WW2 from the Airfix 1/72's up to the Heng Long 1/16's and the Hachette Tiger1. I recently got the 1/6 disease and bought a pre owned Tiger 1( I couldn't find a Panther at the time!) The Mk1 produced Tiger 1 is quite a nice model, if a little primitive in build quality and it has had quite a lot of use in my yard and I guess I have now got "the size matters" syndrome, as I am starting the planning stages of a 1/4 scale scratchbuild Panther. Guess it's a bit of an ambitious project as I want to attempt to create a quarter scale 3 in 1 model, like the now discontinued Armortek offering, of a single hull with Jagdpanther, Bergepanther and Panther Auf. G interchangeable superstructures. My main problem as far as I can see at the moment, will be finding a source of quality tracks and I'd welcome any ideas and suggestions on this point and anything else regarding the project. All the best for 2014 to everyone and I hope to become part of your community.

Welcome Blue
Though you don't model the same scale as I do ...It's always a pleasure to greet another person who has the same enthusiasm for the Hobby
If you don't mind me asking a question...where do you park those monsters... I've seen the size and heard of the weight to which i find the task of storage ... daunting lol
Enjoy the board

Good Morning, Chaz,
Welcome to the Forums. There are a number of 1/6 and 1/4 guys here who will be happy to chat about the large scale armor. We're all into tanks and pictures of tanks so let us peruse your builds when you get the chance. Again, Welcome!
regards,
Painless

Hi bluepolara.
Welcome to the best R/c Tank forum.
You have good range of armour there, with a 1/4 scale scratch build Panther in the pipeline.
Sounds like a build log coming on there. Post the pic’s.
Enjoy your playtime with us.
