Enthused and inspired by fynsdad.. Painless and Canned heat...I felt a little adventurous yesterday and began the process of making the mantlet for the tank....
What I did was purchase a "T" copper fitting from the local hardware store

cut heated and bent it till it was fully reversed... sorry no pictures of that
I then heated and forged the Mantlet for the SHERMAN... this is the result after 13 hrs of work... mostly because I made a mistake when installing the flaps that are positioned on either side of the gun barrel




sassgrunt lent to me his FoV turret which he was using for his Kelly's Heros build ...I copied both the low bustle and now the manlet from that tank.
I also used the original upper hull of the Heng long to show the mantlet...All the drillings shape and contours are the same as the FoV SHERMAN
So what do you think guys ... USE IT OR LOOSE IT...it isn't perfect ...but i feel pretty good that I made it
