Hi Woodspirit. :~
I am delighted that the gun is working again....it is possible that a pellet may have jammed up somewhere and that caused a problem. I forgot to tell you..but you should NOT be using the Heng Long BBs that come with the tank as they are of a very poor quality and can actually damage the gun!!
You need to go to your local store and buy some 'Precision Ground' 6mm BBs....and apparently you should NOT re-use them once they have been fired due to the risk of introducing dirt or dust into the gun. It is also possible for a pellet to have been chipped and for this to then tear/ rip the rubber seal !! ?? !!
Please ask away about the rear idler in a new thread, but I expect that the idler is not at right angles to the hull and maybe it is getting close the throwing a track....so you will need to buy / make a track tensioner adjuster kit or a strengthening bar to run between the two idlers....am I close :D

I bought an extra bottle of 600 or 800 bb's (I forget which one) when I ordered my Tiger and that is what I have been shooting. Most of the smoker fluid leaked out of the bottle and into the rest of the stuff in the accessory box when I first opened up the box my Tiger came in. I have not used the bb's from that box as I figured them being soaked in smoker fluid could not be a good thing. The bb's in the bottle look uniform and round - I do not recall the brand name on them and I am at work so can't give it to you. However I will go to the local airsoft shop and see if they have better ones.
The sun came out here yesterday so did not get a chance to download the pics on the track question last night and tonight my wife wants to go for a ride on our motorcycles and that always wins with me :) I will post the pics and my question when I get a minute - but it does not involve the rear idler angle but rather the proper fit of the track on the idler.
PS - I forgot to mention that not only has my main gun started firing again but BOTH my smoker units are now working as well!! Amazing what happens when you turn your tank upside down a few times :)

Hi Woodspirit, :~
Yes it is amazing, how the things work again when you turn them upside down....The Heng Long smokers are not very good or reliable so well done on getting one to work :D I look forward to the pictures of your track pronblem....But just to try and second guess you here are some photos of where the two vertical guide 'Horns' belong on the rear idler. They go on either side to 'Hold' the rear idler. Alb

You are rignt on the money! When I put the metal tracks on I had one with the track running over the outside horns. The weird thing is the tank worked fine like that! I only noticed it when I took the track off to remove a link and then I wasn't sure what the correct alignment was - inside the horns or on the horn. I figured it was between the horns as the track sure seemed to turn a lot easier when it was aligned that way :)
You are very perceptive and sure know a lot about these tanks!
Thanks agian for all your help.

Good Morning, Sooty,
Not sure about the wire without a pic of your gun\turret. At any rate, here is an auction on Evilbay that should interest you:

Nice Link there Painless,
...... (Old thread... from 2011... and photos from me that are MUCH earlier of my first Heng Long ) ......
The only problem for us on this side of the 'Pond' is that ebay USA seems to be adding 'Import Charges'..... that we would NOT ordinarily have to pay because the amount of the goods is too low !
I do not understand why or with what 'power' they are doing it >:<.... but I bet that it would be added to the paypal invoice if I bought them..!!..
Pity because a VS Leopard gun is a nice Airsoft gun..

Good Morning, Dietrich,
That is ridiculous of them, my friend. ebay is already a multi-billion dollar entity. They do not need to scrape us over the coals to extract more than they already get from p2p sales.
Thank you for the heads up, Dietrich. I frequently use the British Commonwealth version of ebay and accepted the pounds to dollar discrepancy as part of the cost of finding and getting what I wanted. Extra charges are unwarranted.
warm regards,
Painless

Hi Painless,
I agree Evilbay makes more than enough money as it is ......without trying to preempt the ' Evil Government' from charging additional taxes. >:<
