Yes, I got that part of it, but what I meant was, is this a factory IR or had the swap over or mod been made after it reached the vendor? I don't see the typical IR logo on the henglong Box. And also, in the ad on ebay, it mentions the range and hop up feature of the gun.

Yup I saw that too..... it says it includes a box of 100 bbs as well... but only Diesel can clear it up...he has to try the tank out...or at least see if the foam packing has that box of bb's if it does ...this whole thing is a tease :haha: :lolno:

I would say... take it out of the box ...if you haven't already... and play with it first... the recoil alone should be something to think about... as everyone else who has the HENG LONG would have to go through some kind of mod to get it

Sorry Alpha i have to disagree with you,i tried the IR Sherman out,yes i liked the recoil action but the little muzzle flash.. well it didn't do anything for me. BB version at least you can fire at something and hit it.i shot at my hand from a few feet away to see how powerful it was and still had a red welt after a few days later.

Sent it back yesterday and they are going to refund the total amount including the freight charges as well....

OK Diesil.... I give in... but dang if I wouldn't trade my sherman for yours...as the conversion would be time consuming and tedious...not to mention the added cost...
I did purchase an IR unit for mine.. haven't installed it yet... as I need the recoil unit...and proper barrel/mantlet etc...

But my case might differ from yours... as I have many hard shooting bb tanks... one being the T34... which has a very long and accurate metal barrel... the sherman's is short... so there might not be as much mussel velocity ...reason I prefer the IR version... I already have three IR tanks... the STUG.. JAGD PANTHER..and PANTHER... all axis .... just another reason to have an allied tank with IR...because you see... you already know how hard the tank shoots... imagine shooting one of your other tanks with it.... you might damage one or the other... with the IR... there is no chance of that... all that will happen is the tank will shudder and stop working... to where you restart it after a few mins ...so battles are a lot more friendly... and less destructive...one of the reasons IR is preferred at those club meets you see posted on the board...no one wants to see a laborious detailed model get dashed to pieces with bbs 8O ...though it might be fun for the guy with the bb tank...at the end of the day... he won't make many friends doing it

I mean how do you score a bb battle? one hit and the other guy is dead? not all that realistic... unless it's a TIGER vs a SHERMAN of course... but in an IR battle you fight to five shots usually... which gives both players the chance to outmaneuver and perhaps outgun the opponent... The SHERMAN is outstanding for that purpose.. as it is a very nimble runner

But your decision is made.... If you ever reconsider sending it back... I'd trade you tank for tank... in a heartbeat

Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS Diesil

Hi alpha, I'am not quite sure by what you mean 1 shot and your dead not being very realistic. Having seen first hand the results a several mid east engagements believe you me its 1 hit and your finished. I do like the it battles because you get a bit of fun like laser quests being able to get multiple hits before being eliminated, but in real life its not very realistic. Sorry no disrespect meant but that's my view on the tank battles

No problem Hawkeye... I was just trying to illustrate a point... I do know of one hit kills in real battles... have viewed many videos of historical nature... how the armor piercing shells would bounce inside the tank ripping the crew apart...but with that said... there were just as many instances when a tank ..especially the GERMAN heavies ... took more than one to bring them to a halt

With that said... IR does have it's benefits... over bb....I think my T34 would leave a crack in an opposing tank it shoots so hard..and I also feel an airsoft Sherman would be at a disadvantage ... because of it's shorter barrel...which will not allow for the mussel velocity to build much... not to mention the inaccurate shots it will deliver because of that short barrel...I know this as fact... as it is the same with airsoft guns as well... the short guns are great for CQB but lousy for open field battles

Most of my airsoft guns I would tune to shoot at about 425fps across the board... but with that velocity... on the short barrels... would cause a drastic change in accuracy...my long rifles... some which shoot over 500fps...will hold a straight shot for over 200 ft where a shorter barreled gun will curve off at about 40 and this is with 23 grm bbs..reason all of them are downgraded

but saying anything is in vain... as Diesil has already made his mind up

so no offense taken Denzil

HAPPY HOLIDAYS :D

Alpha the speed of a missile down a gun barrel is determined by the charge pushing it, the longer the barrel the more accurate the missile. Think of magnum ammunition in a Colt Police Special (STUBBY), the bullets go everywhere but the power in the bullet is massively increased. Hope this holiday is the best for you old friend. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

No problemo Diesel... the situation does make me wonder though... why did you buy it in the first place?... airsoft versions are plentiful... and cheaper too
