hi kirk,
yes they are the proportional ones.
their prices for stock plastic parts are very good compared to the u.k
but there metal upgrade bit's are not so good.
so if you need plastic sprockets, tracks, smoke units, wiring looms or recoil/airsoft units
there well worth a go
p.s I believe rc dynasty is the ebay arm of mato mart although I could be wrong
cheers

Want to check out the pricing of these proportional smokers. Where is everyone getting them from and prices if you got a deal. :)
Hey dgsselkirk... those things are surprisingly good... you almost don't know they are turned on ... and the delivery of smoke is good..as Lister Fiend said they can be found on EBAY... RC DYNASTY... who does give shipping price breaks for multiple items... and on the internet..MATOMART .. they are one in the same
the Black Friday sale was probably the best time to order because shipping was free for orders over a 100 dollars... which I'm guilty of taking advantage of :haha:

They have an extended sale on... more for free ship... but being you live so close to them it might not matter as they are based in CANADA

They come in sets of two... though I have only used one to date... I do wish I had gotten a few more... they are the surprise of the year for me ;)

Hey there Lister... you're spot on with the description ... their prices are a little on the high side for metal parts...if you really need something it's probably better to use their EBAY listings... as they are set to the sale prices already...

I would still say .. I don't care for their communication process... every two days... it really puts a delay in the whole process ...for a company who does that kind of thing... I would think daily with the exception of sunday or something like that would be better
they do pack the merchandise well... and it does seem they inspect everything before sending things out

I'd give them a healthy ... PRETTY GOOD rating :D

Have a great day Lister

hey alpha,
I always presumed the delay in them getting back to me was the big time difference to the u.k
but fair play, they've always replied thus far.
also I didn't mention (but you did) how much I like these smokers.
because there really quiet when stationary.
I bought two on my first order & six on my second :)
the racket from the standard ones never really bothered me before
but now I can't tolerate them :lolno:
so yes, I agree there pretty good
keep that girls und panzer army coming buddy

p.s one day st gloriana's will get going! :D

:haha: to the communication with MATOMART... and I totally agree with the rest of what you've stated... except the part about ordering six more 8O ...but I have to admit... after watching the function... I am at the moment contemplating getting more...and changing out all my tanks... like you say.. it is so quiet... and the smoke output seems to be better too...
I took the KV out again this morning... just to give it another go over... and watched the function of the unit ...it really isn't how stated earlier... what it actually does is decrease as the tank accelerates...to the point where the smoker shuts down at full throttle... so it doesn't draw any power... leaving more juice for maneuvering and operation of the tank...then starts up again when the tank slows and stops which is basically when the smoke is seen the most anyway :D

A very welcome improvement in my mind... as thoughts of it stealing power was an issue

and st gloriana's ... are you building something ? ;)

Have a good one Lister

You will see that you will need two straws per inlet/ outlet, I am glad that we have two different types of straw, one is a tight fit over the smoker outlet with a small length of bendy and the other is just big enough to slide over the first straw and has a much longer section of bendy straw, I would suggest talking to your wife/partner about different straw sizes, strangely other men I spoke with edged away and gave me very odd looks.

I wouldn't give you any strange looks... because straws do work... thing about them is the plastic they are made of ... it doesn't last... they become brittle and fall apart.. I guess they add a bio degradable agent into the mix.... I do take the straws from "sippers" I find at thrift stores... they are more durable ... I used a single on my KV2 to extend the reach it works great and doesn't require too much space :D

I tend to avoid using them on the Tiger simply because the route from the smoker to the exhaust stack is direct but the Panzer 4 is more twisty and I use straws because they are cheap, readily available ( in the kitchen) and I have a magnetic system to keep the upper hull firmly attached to the lower, one of the best ideas on this site curtesy of DIETRICH. I think if I was reliant on Heng Long's self tapping screw arrangement I would use ALPHA's more permanent scheme to avoid stripping the threads in the hull. 8O shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: You know what Shaun ? I do the opposite of you when repairing self tapping threads... I usually cut slivers of straws stick them in the hole if the tower isn't cracked... then just put the screw back in... it's kind of like the theory of teflon tape on pipes :haha:
