Good Evening All
I have been trying find a decent picture of how Sherman spare wheels were mounted on the left hand sloping portion of the rear deck. I have found some pictures of a super sherman spare wheel mount but not for a 'standard' sherman.
Many thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Sherman spare wheel mounting
Good Afternoon,
I have seen them with a post welded to the hull that has a bolt on top and a flat strip of metal was used to secure the road wheel by dropping it onto the bolt and wrenching a nut onto the bolt to hold everything tight. I can't find the reference image right now of course. ;oP
regards,
Painless

Hi Saracen ,
The track would definitely have been begged, salvaged or stolen from other vehicles .....Anything in a Desperate attempt to protect the Sherman from the German tank or anti-tank guns.....The armour was inadequate for the time.......and they were not called ' Ronsons' by the Allies......... or ........' Tommy Cookers' by the Germans for No Reason...
.
I am surprised that I have never seen any German Tracks on a Sherman.....
