Thoughts of all... to create a decent Panther from the new HL jagdpanther ???

1/35 - 1/16 is pretty much double it. Thats what I've been doing and it works for me.

Is the Tamiya Panther really this bad? I've missed the whole hoohar about at as only just got back into 1/16 tanks recently. I'd want to check the width of the pantiger turret before hacking off the HL Jagd superstructure just in case its horribly over sized to match the Pantiger hull.

Does the HL Jagd have the equivalent of turret rotation on the barrel? If not wont you need to re gig the electrics?

yes, but it wont to too hard, besides ive got a few HL turret rotation and elevation contraption things left over anyway lol

i have the plans in 1/35 for a panther,what percentage do i use to upscale them too 1/16 ? 

To scale up from 1/35 to 1/ 16 multiply by 2.188

looking at the HL panther turret the cupola looks like the only part you could use.....

Hi guys
I narrowed the upper hull about 22mm, but not the lower hull
as it turned out when I got it all back together I realised that I should've narrowed the lower hull as well (by about 10mm, thats all the gearboxes will allow)
the  tiger lower hull is the problem, it makes every thing else out of proportion
I was going to raise the drive cog up 5/8mm (as the panther wheel is a lot higher) but problems with the hull again ::)
the turret and gun barrel is also way big
I presume if the jagdpanther hull is a tiger hull (by the pic in previous post) then it would be a scratchbuilt top (at least they have the right wheels and tracks this time)

Anyway after all that its certainly a great build to do (thats what I like about this hobby)
