So you photoshopped the background? I initially thought you wouldn't have to... I've been to Ontario and tree lines like that are all over the place..beautiful scenes...
except if you left your tank unguarded

Yes, it would be virtually impossible to set up a shot to scale with that type of background. Much easier to do in a graphics program. I don't use photoshop though, I use a much simplier CorelDraw program with a few filters as well. I could have added dust and scratch and some other tricks to make it look even more like an original photo but I figured an hour on it was enough. :D

Please once I complete the Torro KT detailing please do the same to my Photos? My skills with a camera are Laughable and that's being kind to my skills. Ask Dietrich,I suck with a camera.

Here is an example, My TORRO Henschel KT and Dietrichs Waltersons Porsche Kt before adding the hull details. The Tanks look good the only thing bad being me and the camera. Any Suggestion beside me not ever using a camera? :haha:

Hi Saxon,
I'm sure that someone will 'age a photo' once you can provide a decent shot of the tank....so better get Josh or John to use the camera for you :haha:

It isn't just aging that is involved. You can get software online that does that for you but it all has to do with depth of focus, lighting, image clipping, etc... to produce "atmospherics" that is in scale. There are some basic positions and lines you have to do to make it easier to play with. But basically a high res photo shot low so that the middle of the tank is the horizon line is the best. It takes me about a couple of hours to really play with the photos and I have done some for friends and they "donate" me paypal or bribe me with tank parts! :D I give them jpg web res, high res poster size, and pdf format. I can do other formats too if requested provided I have the software. Here is a quickie done of MichaelC's Stug . Also just to show the idea of angles and focus his gunner too. :D

A possible explanation is that a lot of these tanks got shot up on roads or major crossing points and have to be moved aside so vehicle traffic can resume. (A pretty important task for the allies when they want to resupply their forces in the frontline) So often times they used bulldozers to push these behemoths off the road.

Now these things are tracked so which when locked 8O (i.e. transmission gears engaged - not in nuetral) is gonna grip the road and won't budge unless intentionally flipped over to the side. Which invariably happens hence the number of photos of these tanks showing just that.

regards
Jeff
