Been collecting a few bits and bobs for my first tank, an all plastic HL Tiger 1. As I purchased it second hand and weathered I don't want to have to replace the BB barrel which i think is a correct length plastic replacement. No way with my painting ability would I match the current job.
I have a Taigen 2.4 kit to fit. Also a Dragon v3 ATRC.
So I was thinking barrel recoil or at least replace the bb function with a muzzle flash.
So my noob questions are:
1. I take it I will not be able to use the bb barrel with a Taigen/hl recoil unit?
2. Will the high intensity flash units work without the recoil unit?
3. If I unplug the bb unit will I loose gun sound? Thinking I could butcher the bb unit to channel a muzzle flash If recoil not an option.
As the parts and Tank I already have are meant to be my Christmas pressie I have resisted opening it up to inspect the wiring so I am really in your hands with what I could do to make this tank operate a little more realistically.
Any advice would be appreciated.

My first word of advice... Open your tank

I personally haven't messed with my electricals.... as they are good... the stock RX 18 can be used for the recoil...my Stug has it ... and so does my Jagdpanther ...with that said... the accessories should allow you to do a lot more.... but... you have to open your tank up

take some photos so you can remember the hook ups.. then disconnect and re-install your mod parts

Re: Flash and recoil questions.
TK,
1. The HL BB barrel usually have a notch to prevent it from sliding but if you managed to grind it down and with a little extension you might be able to use it with a HL recoil unit.
2. The high intensity flash will work as long as you keep the trigger switch from the BB/Recoil unit.
3. Same as 2. If you kept the trigger switch you will have sound/flash/hull recoil. You can also look for the diode mod which will eliminate the need for the trigger switch. It is on the forum somewhere but I have to look for it.

Re: Flash and recoil questions.
You have no idea the frustration I am feeling having this stuff sitting here. I so want to get on with it!! In the new year I am so looking forward to getting my hands dirty, but if I play now I will have no excuse to get out of all the Christmas chores!ALPHA wrote: Hello TK commander

So for now research and brain picking.
I know I am capable of opening my Tiger and fitting the Taigen 2.4 with ATRC . Thanks to this forum ...

Thanks for your replies,
I had been looking but missed that thread. I have a few years to catch up with Ian's tank experience but the problem is the same. That helps a lot, and gives me more to ponder.

With that said though... you should at least remove the two screws hidden by the tracks...so when it does come Christmas ... you can tear into that baby with greater ease
