Hey Shaun... no I didn't know that....I guess you could use it on yours lol...because in GIRLS und PANZER... there is no infantry to deal with ...reason the commanders don't have machine guns ...Who makes 1/16 scale barbed wire ? That has got to look pretty cool

With that said... the reason why the helicopter wire works... is because it's low resistance silver core wire....soldering it to another conductor outside the hull extends the range....so if you have those aftermarket copper tow cables you could drill a small hole near the center ... and the whole cable will be the antenna ..and as you say shaun... spools could be made and the wire wrapped on that...

I actually just finished modifying the mod ...If I have time tomorrow I will post a picture

Really? That is too cool... I was just browsing the site last night... didn't see it...if I do a dirty tank...some of those would work great for additional antenna

I present to you my new antenna ... final phase
Spent a good portion of the day yesterday soldering this puppy together... I used what I had available... some copper tubing... the pop valves that came with the tank ..(hollowed to allow the smoke to come out) and brass tubing...the hardest part was making the 90 degree bends...The side antenna is still operational..if extended .. gives me more range




it's a little rough... but miniature plumbing... .... mind boggling



the end cap of the snorkel.... was a magazine from some anime guy... I was going to use it for a HALO speeder I was planning to make... but it looked better on this ...the poppet stack is made from the stock exhausts that came with the TAUCH PANZER... I cut them off... hollowed them out with an appropriate drill and needle filed the holes.... a little restrictive on the smoke... but it's kind of cool... not to mention.. smoke still comes out of it after the tank has stopped ...yup .. it will smoke for about an hour after

A good view of the entire assembly....the mod took awhile to line up and wire... but increased the range ten fold....because of the location of the exhaust module...I secured it to the rear panel which is removable...de soldered the helicopter wire from where I had it connected before... re-soldered it directly to the receiver board... so I could remove the upper hull without any problems...drilled a tiny hole ... just big enough for the wire in the top of one of the smoke feeders... passed it into the muffler...then soldered it to the copper tube... and sealed the end with another part of that gun I was going to use to build the HALO speeder...then sealed the entire package with a couple coats of super glue....I was going to do it up in copper... like the heat had tarnished the gold...but I couldn't find it ...so gold it is

So the entire muffler is now my antenna

Just to clarify on the 2.4ghz tx's. Once you bind the receiver to the tx in the comfort of your own home, that is it, no other tank will ever share your frequency. We have meets with anything up to 80 tanks in attendance, and most use 2.4ghz, it makes intereference from other tanks a thing of the past.

I have 8 tanks, all use 2.4ghz, and one transmitter. All of the tanks are bound to the one transmitter, so I only have to carry one about.

The frequency lock is remembered by the tank and the tx so even if you don't use the tank, switch it off etc, the reciever will always remain locked to the tx. It literally takes 2 seconds to set up, press a reset button on the rx, wait for the blink, job done.

There is no aeriel on a 2.4ghz rx, it is just a tiny box that sits inside the tank, so you can stick dummy ones in the correct location externally for authenticity. I have a corrected folding one on my PIII. 2.4ghz is the way to go, which is why so many manufacturers now use it as the standard.

Hi there WibblyWobbly.. now that's the best explanation I've heard on the use of the 2.4 gigs ...do all manufacturers use that method of "bonding" with their remotes??? Reason I ask is... I just received a second HENG LONG T34..with the 2.4 and tried to start it up with my first T34's controller... didn't work... perhaps I was doing something wrong... but I didn't see a "lock on" button on it

Seems the opportunity has come up again to move another antenna once again on another PANZERIII ...as it fell from an eight foot shelf...

I know there is a debate on the quality of HENG LONG TANKS... this accident solidifies my belief in them as the physical damage was minimal... only two of the body screw points inside the upper shell dislodged and the rear exhaust deflector was damaged... everything else functions perfectly

I have seen how many have converted to metal hulls.. and have even been offered one as a replacement... I am so glad I didn't do it... as I'm pretty sure the metal would not have survived

Reason I will stick with the brand... and build on what's there

Anyway.. since I could not find all the pieces for the deflector.. what I plan to do is get a piece of copper flatten and sculpt it then solder the helicopter antenna wire to it and hide it behind
