I was just wiping down my HL Tiger 1 (gray version) with some rubbing alcohol and the color began to come off on top of the turret, are the parts molded in color or painted on? has this happen to somebody else? and is it best to strip it down when you are about to repaint it or just sand it with find grit so the primer and the paint was something to grab on to?

Hello Ihardnova....don't worry about the stock paint too much.... HENG LONG's paint is usually pretty good and stable... to prep... if you like... all you have to do is scuff it with a scrub pad similar to this



just be sure to go easy over the tiny parts... like hooks and things...but if there is a "hard" edge left from where your paint peeled... yeah sand it...I'd go with the back side of an emery board... just because it's stiff... then once it's blended.... go with a wet type sandpaper... 4 to 600 grit is fine

and yes HENG LONG usually molds in a color close to what the tank is painted...if you remove the top of the tank...(open it up) you will see the color of the plastic... as they don't paint the insides ...sometimes on the PANZER IVs and PANZER IIIs .. certain parts aren't even painted... especially on the gray models...it's a pain in the behind for sure... as the color they use is a custom color... you have to mix to match it.. in general ... I start with a blue... then add a touch of white... then black

if you are using an airbrush... "flow" also makes a difference... so consistent technique is something to be paid attention to
