However weird this may seem to some members I feel it's worth remembering that the Japanese revolutionized this hobby of ours... eg Tamiya.

Yes they did ...they also revolutionized model building as a whole...created things american companies would never have produced... not to mention the detail put into them...but that could be said for a lot of products... radios .. cars.... cameras... appliances etc... etc... etc....

What I'm waiting for is either CHINA or JAPAN... to start releasing inexpensive 3D copiers .... can you imagine ... drawing out your own design for a favorite tank... then have whatever parts made in house in less than a few days ... with high quality polymers...without any machine or intensive lazer work ? :O

I'll probably be six feet under when that happens... but I can always dream ;) ... :D

Have a good one tanks for the memories

Hi ALPHA.
When you started this thread you had reservations as to how your models and modelling method would be received by the forum.
Well you are now onto page four and still going strong.
So you didn't scare us after all, keep it up.

I'm still scared.... :S

There are already relatively cheap 3D printers on the market. I remember about 20 years ago we bought one of the first coloured laser printers for the graphics department at my work. It was $6000. Within 5 years they were about $1500. Within another 5 years they were under $500.

The 3D printers aren't even starting that expensive so I figure you will be able to get something half decent under $1000 in a couple of years. Hell , you can buy a used one for that now if you hunt around! :D

P.S. now you need to make these things fire pink and blue paint balls!

Everyone ready for the next installment of GIRLS UND PANZER? :haha: ...MIHO 4...THE STUDENT COUNCIL TANK...ok it isn't the PzKpfw 38T... but I didn't want to dive into the PANDA model without knowing when the remote kit would be available or if it was going to be made at all :'(

So I thought the HENG LONG PANZER III ..was a good substitute for now
Here she comes ....in all her luster :D

I fabricated these vent covers from a vent cover :haha:...note the light buckets are extended using the super glue black rings.. :D

some different environment pictures...part of my torture test field ;)

Apologies ... I forgot to tell you all to wear sunglasses B|

Enjoy

This TAUCH PANZER was a strange model... My STUG... and PANZER III has "sprung" suspenders (shocks) this one had solid plastic shocks :O ..so I'm going to see if there are after market ones .... or strip it from a boneyard PERSHING and/ or WALKER that I have
The fact that it didn't have the shocks didn't deter the photos... so it's something I can do at my leisure :D

I'll bet even Malcolm Forbes doesn't own a gold tank. You should be proud.

Hi dgsselkirk

Seems the only fear currently.. is only if you have a daughter who might get interested in RC tankery... and ask to have one of your tanks be converted :haha: or enjoy Historical replication ... and make sure you don't cut corners when you make one for her :haha:
There is a silver lining though... participating in a hobby like this will probably keep her out of trouble :D

Now about those 3D printers... yeah I'm sure they will get cheaper ... and yes I'm sure there are some good ones to be found now...but like normal copiers ... the thing that remains high in price... will be the polymers you need :'( ...but it would be a cool tool to have :D

There actually was a store here that sold 6mm paintballs... and there are 6mm bbs that are called markers.... they have a colored graphite coating ...they are what I would choose... because using them maintains your gun.... the paintballs... I pass lol... they can burst in the mechanism leaving you in a world of repair headaches

Great idea though... I think I have some 20 gm crosman marker bbs :D

Have a good one dgsselkirk
