Re: Heng Long Sherman
Looks great Phil, I like this a lot. Have you seen the Schumo tow cable and clamp sets?
http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/schu ... 1111-p.asp
I have these on both the shermans I have. They are a bit pricey (what Schumo stuff isn't?) but they are excellent for detail and the clamps are functional. I think they add a good extra detail with little effort.
What electrics are you going to use? I'm waiting for a Clark TK22 at the moment.

Hi Painless, Not sorted a cover for the search light yet still looking, the many reason for posting my pictures up is to share ideas with like minded people and get feed back on what I'm doing wrong as far as accuracy is concerned within reason as I'm no expert in tank knowledge! lol
You are welcome to copy or use any of my pictures etc.
I just like modelling and tanks happen to do it for me and as an artist its good to paint on a 3D canvass.
Below is a picture of the spotlight head on, the LED in real life its very bright so I'm going to ad some resisters in line to dull it down a bit.
Scalawag, they are sold out at WDM, in the end I cut them of my Pershing and glued them to a metal tow rope I laying around. Now I will have to replace the tow rope on my Pershing at some point.

Hi Phil,
Sorry I didn't realise the link was to a page out of stock. Just checked axels modelbau as an alternative source, but they don't have any either. Still think it might be worth getting a set as you could then replace the rope on the pershing, and get the clamps and fittings for the sherman. But as everywhere seems to be out of stock it will have to wait for the moment I guess.

Good Morning,
Not to hijack Phil's excellent Sherman thread, I would like to know the difference between the current types of aftermarket electronics out there one day as well as a simple guide for installation. (replacing the various HL RT boards with these new types)
regards,
Painless Wolf

I did this little write up
viewtopic.php?f=81&t=10520&p=91601&hili ... nic#p91601
I was like you confused with all the different systems which had come onto the market over last few years and tried quite a few.

I kind of have the same question as well... as so far... knock on wood... most of my HL boards and RX18s work fine... other than the 2.4 gig unit on another person's post which has a fan to keep things cool...I can't see changing anything unless you want more functions...or something burns out
because so far... and I wouldn't be sure this is the reason mine work well... but so far... I've found just increasing the voltage of your battery will improve the response quite a bit ... I run 2400 mah lipos...in my deluxe models.. it more than compensates for the drag the added components add to the performance
What I found strange is that my 1/24 LEOPARD..uses a 9.6 2000 mah battery ( stock)...and it's internals are pretty much the same as the low end 1/16 HENG LONGs

makes you wonder doesn't it ?
Have a good one Painless
