Greetings from Tulsa OK

Post by Eegoor »

Hello all

I have always had a love for tanks ever since I was a youngster. When I first went to join the Army I wanted to be a tank driver but instead I picked a MOS that would allow me to use my skill in the civilian world. I first got into RC tanks a year ago with the purchase of 2 VS PRO tanks. I bought a M4 Sherman and a King Tiger and they are both I.R. battle equipped. I did however just get a nice new shinny 1/16 HL Tiger early production air soft tank this week. I love the thing and I have already upgraded it to metal gears, tracks and drive sprocket. I am looking forwarded to more upgrades and maybe some custom fabrication. I am always looking for new ideas and I am open for suggestions and knowledge from veterans of the RC tank community. I hope to find a RC tank club close by, and I hope to see some of you on the battle field soon!

Good Morning,
Welcome to the Forum. I'm a fan of the 1/24 scale IR and Airsoft tanks as well. I have a Tokyo Marui TIger 1 and a VS Sherman M4A3 and German 'Captured' KV-2 Take some time and browse the various Build sections and the Question and Tips sections for useful information. Your HL Tiger 1 should give you years of fun but like most things wonderful, one may not be enough. ;o) Pics of your tanks and work that you do on them, please. We love seeing the endless innovations for modeling within our branch of the RC world.
regards,

Good Afternoon, Alpha,
I think that you fall under the "endless innovations" part of my request for pictures there. Do not sell yourself short. I enjoyed looking at your tanks and admired the careful work and master level acumen that was displayed with your scratch figure building as well.

Painless old friend you are absolutely right, we all given time and enough practice can turn out a fair example of a Tiger 1 but I hark back to the brothers Wright, they could have remained in the cycle repair and building business and produced bicycles to die for but innovation also needs courage to look over the horizon and to be ready to expect comments and derision and still go ahead and do what you think is the right thing, it really does not matter Alpha what others think, If you do not do what is driving you all you will have is a lifetime of regret. Go for it and enjoy. EEGOR forgive me where are my manners, welcome to the quickest way to become poor ever discovered, never the less I am sure you will enjoy this hobby, you mention you might buy another Tank? one!!! ONE, You will stop buying Tanks when your partner reminds you that the unimportant things like food Mortgage and Gasoline need paying for. An early Tiger 1 eh well everyone forgets that the early Tiger 1 had a step on the front spare track holder and a grab handle above, these were removed in later models when it was discovered that the Fuhrers enemies were using these to gain access and cause harm to crew and Tank. enjoy this place. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
