Tiger Front deck Hatches - Tiger 1

Post by squadie_brat_72 »

Hi all,
Can anyone point in area of the forum or link me to pictures on how to cut off old moulded shut front hatches/ fit the new metal hatches on Heng Long Tiger 1.
Just ordered them from Welsh Dragon, and want to go about changing them the right way.

Cheers,

There's a bunch of subjects regarding your request in the "TIPS AND TRICKS" area of the forum... but really if the old hatches are of no concern to you... just drill a hole in them and cut them off then sand the residual plastic .... or get a x-acto saw and cut them off... or a x-acto chisel blade you have to be careful with this one though ... make sure your hands are not in front of the blade... and never cut towards yourself :D

Hi S_B_72 i have just done a few upgrades to my Tiger 1 including cutting out the hatches and putting in metal ones .What i did was using my Dremel. if you haven't got one a normal drill will do,drill a complete circle of holes as close to each other as possible all around the hatches make sure you drill smaller then the hatch then tilt the drill at and angle using it as a saw and cut the remaining material between all the holes. After that get a half round file or even better if you have a small sanding disk attachment run all around the cut out section until you get the finish you want... Cheers Diesel

Thanks All - wasn't sure at first, but now have a good idea on what to do. It's so easy when pictures speak a thousand words and easy to follow just how to do this.

Cheers for now
