Panther G

Post by panzernut »

I just finished the paint on this original grey HL panther G, IR, metal tracks, transmissions, road wheels. I have a Clark TK22 coming and will add night sights to the copula as well as begin the weathering. I have added Aber debris screens on the rear deck and Asiatam metal hatches up front. Hope you like the photos.

Thanks. I'll post photos when she's all done. Still working on the night sights. Hope to see the TK22 board by weeks end. Take care.

Jack, super looking Panther, got one on the go now as I wait for my electronics for the Tiger 1. I see you stated you had issues with upper hull hatches, been thinking about getting that set-up. Can you offer some points on where the issues were plus your solution. Thanks in advance...

Derek,

I bought from Welsh Dragon, super company by the way. You have to take your time cutting out the upper hull hatches, I cut a small section a little too big but just filled in with putty so no big deal. Since there is nothing to hold it in place while drying and to give it more strength, I epoxyed a styrene "floor" on the underside of the top hull. I cut the "floor" out where the hatch opening are so the hatch would lay flat. Once I had it pretty level, I epoxyed it into place, then smoothed it out with putty. After it dried, painting was all that was left. Not a real tough project but my right arm is about 65% usable due to a stroke so projects like this give me a little challenge. Hope this helps.
