Slowing down a Panther tank

What is the best way to slow down a Tamiya Panther tank. I have a Tamiya Tiger 1 and when I built it back in 2002 I included a gear reduction unit which slowed it down to a more realistic speed and a slower start speed. This was obtained from a company called Applied Effects in the USA. I cannot find the same item on the internet any more.
What is the best way to achieve a similar slower speed and less 'jumpy' start on my Panther? Thanks for any replies.

Stick control goes a very long way, the tamiya DMD is excellent and gives brilliant slow speed control even with start date gearboxes

Turnigy do a servo slower which gives a momentum effect. There's also schumo geardowns. I found these shredded my gearboxes so not a massive fan but they do what you're after.

Have the Schumo version? No problems with it running metal tracks on a KT.

The stock motors are 3v, change them to either 6.9,12v and that will slow the Tank down very nicely.

Hi, just found your question. I love using Roland's gearboxes in all my Tamiya Panther tanks.
https://modellspiegel.jimdo.com/ I have his gearboxes in my Tamiya KT, Tiger I and my two Taigen Panzer IV's and Panzer III. You can also change the 540 motors to even slower speeds or faster. He came up with them first before ETO's gearboxes. Roland is in Germany. You can find vide I s of his gearboxes in action on YouTube (just have to search). Cannot post video of one of my Panthers b/c it's too big. Lol
