Would anyone be available....?

Post by jackalope »

Hey guys so my new Red Cat Gen 8 truck is actually nicer then I thought it would be! So I'd like to fix it up a bit, nothing crazy but I'm kinda stuck.

Red Cat has 3D files that anyone can download free of charge to customize their trucks...... but I don't have a printer.

Would anyone be interested in printing me some wiper arms/blades, gas cap, and especially the #5 grill? All can be whatever color you have as I have access to paint.

Please let me know, no huge rush but I'd like them before I retire in 20 years. ;) :haha:

Just thought I'd post this here as opposed to the WANTED section cause it'll disappear from the new posts in a day or so.

Thank you sir! Here is a link to the Red Cat site that has the files. Let me know.

Red Cat Gen 8 Grill V5 or V4 if V5 is too hard.
Red Cat Gen 8 Door handles
Red Cat Gen 8 Gas cap
Red Cat Gen 8 Windshield Wipers

Let me know about the Red Cat Gen 8 roof rack.

And let me know how much you would charge. Would black be possible? My truck is orange and black already.
I figured exact titles would be best to eliminate any confusion.

You should be patient until I get an SLA printer up and running, which should be soon. The print quality will be light years ahead. Don't make me call you Grasshopper. @)

I'll go ahead and print the grill, but I think it would be well worth it to wait on the gas cap and door handles. The finish on resin parts would be much better there. I'll try the wiper blades next, and we'll go from there. The grill is a 13 hour print, so there's time. And it just makes more sense for me to do them over here, the postage from Wayne's would be killer.

Hey Wayne, how do I scale the wipers down to 1/16 scale?

Hi Gary, is the durabily of the resin printed items the same as the normal filament ones?

I am concerned about durability. For printing detailed parts and figures and so on, no doubt the resin is the way to go, but is it OK for mechanical parts too?
