HL-Tiger wheels

Post by birger »

Hi guys,

what is wrong with the HL-wheels?

Well, the Tiger has two different versions.

1. Version: A big single inner wheel with two rubber rings on it and a single outer wheel with one rubber ring.

2. Version: A small inner wheel with one rubber ring and a double outer wheel with two rubber rings. The outer wheel could be separated to smaller the chassis by using transport tracks for railroad movement.

The difference between the HL-Tiger wheels and the way they should look like, see next picture.

There are two ways to modify the wheels. The easiest one is to by new wheels with the right style.

The other one is cheaper, not as good looking but better than nothing.

So, what is to do?

1. Remove the Tiger tracks

2. Remove the wheels

To modify the wheels, follow the next pictures.

We only need the big wheels.

Mark the center of the tires.

Put them into a drilling machine.

Take a small triangular file.

While the drilling machine is running, cut a triangular slit into the center of the tires.

But not to deep, otherwise you slit them in half. Well should that happen, don´t worry, just glue them back together.

If the work is done, it should look a little bit like this one:

Now see the difference.

Ok, it is not perfect, but it looks better than before, doesn`t it?
