You will likely receive lots of differing opinions on the question, Paolo. I am learning on a Flysky FS-i6X: I find it complicated enough to keep me thinking, but simple enough that I can actually make it work without any nearby help. Here's the web site for Flysky: https://www.flysky-cn.com/ I just bought mine off Amazon when it was recommended to me here on RCTW a few years ago.

I like the Flysky FSi6S better than the "X" as channels 9 and 10 are momentary rotary dials. Being momentary dials, it's easier for me to use them for shooting the machine guns and main gun. That's really the main difference between the radios.

That’s very interesting reading, thank you.
Arguably… this gives rise to the question: how many channels are actually required? Forward & reverse is 1, steering 2, turret rotation 3, gun elevation 4, main gun 5, mg 6. Given that I want to use an elmod board, how many more extra functions could be added?
Any other alternative radio manufacturers?

Thx,

Paul.

And how many of those require a separate channel for each? I’m never convinced by the smoke from the exhausts (or at least the videos I’ve seen) but from the main gun muzzle with recoil & flash, it looks quite realistic if timed correctly. Lights, I’d forgotten about. A simple on/off for those should suffice.
