Shame they all tripped over each other producing the same tanks (with a few outliers) instead of each manufacturer developing their own diverse lineups. But, there's no denying the economic need to do that, hence everbody sells a Tiger 1, King Tiger, Abrams, Panther, Leopard, Sherman, and Challenger.
Good on the odd risk taker designer who squeezed past the PZIII, Jagdpanzer IV, T34(!), Stug III, Sheridan(!!!), Type 10, ZTZ99, T90, and T72.

And this is why 3D printing fills in the gaps everywhere the mainstream manufacturers fall short. It can literally cost more than $50,000 just to cut the injections molds for something like an RC 1/16 scale tank. Bear in mind, these molds have to take repeated heating and cooling cycles thousands if not tens of thousands of times before wearing out and needing to be replaced. Each mold has to be cut multiple times to get the plastic flow correct to produce perfect parts. The man hours in designing the parts and the sprues is a lot. You don't want to spend $100k in investment in a tank that a limited audience will buy.

I hate to say it, but a world war has a romanticism aspect to it. Your grandparents tell you stories of it. People watch movies like Saving Private Ryan and Fury so they want a Tiger or a Sherman. Modern tanks are too political. When the Ukraine war broke out, no one wanted Russian tanks because of politics.

Yep. Currently, new models from the Korean and Vietnam wars appear (T-55, M60, Sheridan, Centurion, etc.). Maybe the current generation of tanks has to retire to become popular ;)
