1/4th Scale M2 Halftrack Build
1/4th Scale M2 Halftrack Build
Hello everyone, new to this forum, wanted to share my rather large M2 halftrack build, i have been working on this off and on for several years. It will eventually end up being an M16B with the quad 50. i knew going into this that there would be no aftermarket parts available in 1/4th scale so i would have to make every part, but so far i have enjoyed watching it come together. Heres a link to a few more pics https://ibb.co/album/FX0LC3 , i just recently finished the front diff case sides which will eventually be cast out of aluminum. my focus right now is to make the frame to rear floor brackets and then the rear floor. I know of only 1 other halftrack in 1/4th scale and it was made by International Harvester to showcase their halftrack, it is in a museum.

Hello and welcome to the forum Dave
New member you've been lurking for two years lol
Anyway, wow, that's quite some introduction you've given us I once came very close to purchasing a quarter scale King Tiger, but realised I'd need a low loader truck to transport it, it was as long as a car
Glad to finally make your acquaintance, enjoy the forum, I'm sure the forum will enjoy having you and this build

Thanks for the welcome, yah shes a big and a heavy girl, you may be surprised to know that i originally was planning on making 2 halftracks, even went as far as building a second front louver assembly with the pedestal lights which can be seen in my album pics, but once i got to all the hinges (25) on each HT, i got bogged down and decided to build just 1 HT, i may still yet build another.. i have been in contact with real HT owners from all over the world and they have been kind enough to send me pics, measurements of their HTs. I try and keep my measurements at + or - 1/32". It will be RC eventually and my plan is to build an ammo trailer to carry the battery. looking forward to seeing the rear floor, it's kind of bare back there right now

Don't need a 1/4 scale half-track to haul the kids around in...just buy a stroller...

I managed to get a few more things done, the front motor mounts have been cast and installed along with the inner engine armor, also got the windshield armor almost done with just a few more things to add. The track armor is currently being cut out and will post pics as soon as its installed.
