I bought my first tank a few days ago , a Heng long panzerkamfwagen 111 with sound and smoke , bb shooter etc . Its good fun but when I turn on a gradient the track comes off - every time a coconut ! , will the Tiger 1 with broader tracks be any different , perhaps a tank with 2 speed gearbox ? or maybe I'm being too aggressive whilst on the turn ?

The Tiger is even worse for throwing the tracks. Basically bigger track more friction so worse. Not certain about your P3 but way I sorted my Tiger was make the idle wheels (ones at the back) as solid as possible as it is generally the slackness which allows the tracks to misalign and then come off.

That's the issue with HLs. You get what you pay for and they work, but have issues. All the problems can be sorted out, but it takes some work. There are tons of beautiful HL tanks out there, but they were built that way.

With the Pz III, you'd be better off with the metal tracks, due to the size. Larger links like the Tiger can withstand more punishment, but as soon as you really start putting strain on those, they'll snap. Right now, you probably throw the track before you break it, but once you fix that, the strain will be on the links. I broke link after link anytime I was driving it though grass. Once I switched to metal, no problems at all.

The fix for the tracks slip is pretty simple, there are aftermarket metal adjustable tensioners for it. That way you can tighten the track via a nut to the proper tension.
