I want to add a Servo to my tank elivation.. I know how tomod them so they just go round and round etc but not sure if you can wire them up to an RX 18??... I have made some mods to the turret for my Co2 conversion, and means i cant use the original elivation unit..... but a servo would fit, and just work off a cam to make the barrel go up and down etc.... but the wiring I aint so sure about? ???

Hey Mate what about a gun elevation unit from a Stug 111....That way you know it will work with the RX 18. I would though assume the servo will work as once modded as its just a motor...

stug 111... hmmm what be this?.. I asume its a diff shape standard HL unit?

As for the servo..would it be a case of using the red and black wires as a simple pos and negative for motor on and motor off... and disgard the reciver wire?... the reciver board inside would be of no use so i could bin that and save weight lol.... just use the motor like you say

Ah that might just work I could mount it quite far back etc .... I had a slight brown trouser moment yesterday... i took a servo apart to make it just go round and round. After hacking it i hooked it up to 7.2v power and BOOOOOMM huge yellow flash a very loud snap and something exploded sending bits of all over the place.. and left a burn mark about 15" long on the side board and left me thinking
i should have had specks on 8O

As a former Army officer, this is so often the case. Even more so in a time of political correctness and journalist who are more interested in making villians of those who stand the gap. Few account for the fog of war and bad intelligence. I like the 9 O'clock jury.. Good one!
