Hi jdinsall,
This is one of the infamous Heng Long 'Porsche turreted King Tigers' ....that were NOT originally supposed to have been released by them until
after the launch of the new brand name 'Waltersons' and 'Their' version of the King Tiger.
If you just look at it as an R/C tank with Plastic EVERYTHING, then I suppose that the price is ok....but I would dig around a bit on Ebay and compare the price of it to say a Tiger and a Panther. It is worth bearing in mind that the other models may actually come with up grades like metal tracks or metal gearboxes....so just carefully compare the prices. The Mark 2 Waltersons 'Porsche' King Tiger is painted in a standard but 'Weathered' German colour of Dark Yellow, and may well now come with metal upgrades.... I really am not sure, but it will certainly cost more than this version.The Mark 1 was a odd shade of green plastic with plastic everything.....
This tank would be good in that the 'Porsche' turreted tanks are a 'Rarer' breed since Tamiya stopped making their version, but do NOT buy it on that point alone. There are far more metal 'Upgrades' available on say the Tiger 1.....a good place to look at the Upgrades is on 'Welsh Dragon Models' site Steve is a member on here and his website is easy to use and well laid out... Here is the link..

Good Evening,
Dietrich is right. I shopped around and did get one of the early release Heng Long Porsche Turret King Tigers but got one with the excellent metal tracks, sprockets, idlers and gun tube already installed. Granted, it cost quite a bit more than the one you found but the upgrades gave me a solid foundation to continue on with my own mods and specializations. Good Luck and shop around a little more. You might wind up happier.

)
regards,
Painless
