hi all have noticed some slack in the metal tracks and now track seems to coming over the rear sprocket do i need to install a tensioner

The correct long term answer is 'YES' .The metal tracks do actually weigh quite a lot and put quite a bit of strain on the gearing system. You could try just to take out a single track link, but the chances are that this only delaying the inevitable.I would also recommend adding some strengthening around and across the hull where the front pivot idler wheels are and across the hull at the rear where the gearboxes are, these things should cure the problem completely.If you are not clear on the strengthening then please send me a PM and I ill try to help all that I can.

Unless I'm mistake I thought the persing did have an adjusting idle wheel although isn't manually adjustable. It is linked into the first road wheel. I think your problem is the suspension can't cope with the weight casuing the road wheels to be closer to the bottom of the hull than should and hence making your track now slack.

I know someone posted a question about where to get beefed up suspension for the Pershing or Bulldog but don't think any exist so maybe a DIY job to get stronger springs and add them.
