Hey guys,

I'm looking at upgrading the lower hull to my Tiger 1. It is my intent to make a Mid Production tank. Before I purchase something, I would like some advice from the vast experience here. I'm looking at the Mato all Metal hull with all it bells and whistles (the complete package) but the Asiatam hull looks sweet as well.

Asiatam (Tiagan) Hull, from Welsh Dragon http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/taig ... -512-p.asp

Any thoughts or opinions?

Thanks.

Hey Mate,
I have 3 Taigen hulls, Panzer 3/ KV 1/ KT although I think the KT is Torro but is pretty much the same and will be soon getting one for my Tiger 1 from welshdragon. I think they are great and well put together, I have seen the Mato Tiger 1 up close and wasnt fussed on any of it still uses the H/L style suspension instead of torrsion bars like the Taigen and Tamiya hulls but is a bit heavier.
Bottom line I would go the Taigen hull thats my advice and I am sure you will get more..

Cheers Ken

I personally suggest the asiatam from welshdragon. The mato hull can't even compare to a torsion bar system and honestly the welshdragon price is quite attractive.
Mato product although better than plastic is a step below the quality of the asiatam stuff.

As far as I know the Mato hull is basically a metal copy of the HL one and as already said not very good.

Ive the Asiatam tiger hull and managed to destroy the supensions arms and ripped one of the idle tensioners off. After that got the Taigen one which is same with a few upgrages.

If you go for the Asiatam Taigen hulls you also need to replace all the road wheels and idlers as it has a different axle diameter to the HL.

Steve at Welsh Dragon has axles to fit the HL wheels so you can re-use them, I think he still has them on special offer at £0.99

That's good then. When I got mine last year the 4mm shaft axles wasn't available to fit the Asiatam 3mm axle suspensions arms.
